Lesley Moran is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, Qualified Clinical Supervisor and Board-Certified Master Addiction Counselor. She is also an Intensively trained DBT therapist through Behavioral Tech. Lesley completed her Masters of Science degree in Psychology at Albizu University In Miami, Florida, completing post-Master’s training in Clinical Psychology, Forensic concentration; Psy.D. ( ABD). Lesley works out of our Cary office. Lesley has worked in the field of mental health and addiction for over 25 years and possesses a wealth of personal, professional, and academic knowledge.
Lesley provides both in person and telehealth services, specializing in working with adults, teens and couples, suffering from mood disorders, grief/loss, chemical dependency, co-occurring disorders, complex trauma, suicidal ideation, Borderline Personality Disorder, emotion regulation issues and relationship struggles. Lesley is an LGBTQIA+ ally and enjoys working with individuals of all genders and sexual identities, cultural backgrounds, and those with disabilities.
Lesley is passionate about providing individualized and evidence-based care to each client. She believes open and honest communication is the most effective way to assist others who are seeking change in becoming the best version of themselves. She believes our past and early experiences influence us and shape how we see ourselves, the world and others. She also believes that we can gain insight into any patterns that may cause suffering and develop a plan towards a “life worth living.” She believes that transformation is possible at any age and you can begin to heal your mind and body, celebrate your worth and create fulfilling and meaningful relationships you deserve.
Lesley utilizes various treatment modalities, to include, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, integrated treatment models of co-occurring disorders, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. She integrates principles of neurobiology of trauma research, internal family systems, gender affirmation models, attachment theory, somatic experiencing, mind-body awareness, and polyvagal theory
In her free time, Lesley enjoys hiking, water sports, movies, music events, watching hockey and spending time with her two fur kids, named Louie and Riley.

We work with self-pay and many insurance plans. Please ask about your insurance carrier when you contact us to make an initial appointment. We accept most Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem Blue Cross plans, as well as Aetna, Cigna, Humana, United Health Care, and Optum.
